THE 17-year-old Lancashire student who fell from a seventh floor balcony at a Magalluf block of holiday apartments in the early hours of last Saturday morning remained in a coma and in a critical but stable condition yesterday according to official sources at Son Dureta Hospital in Palma.

Grace Ford has been in intensive care since being rushed to hospital after having apparently fallen from a window at 5.30am last Saturday morning.
According to a reconstruction of the tragic events carried out by the Guardia Civil, it appears that the victim thought that the window led to the interior of the block of holiday apartment blocks.

Unfortunately, it led out in to an interior patio and she fell some ten metres suffering severe multiple injuries to her legs, arms and pelvis. Another British tourist who was arrested for having failed to have assisted at the accident scene has since been released. Grace Ford, who was looking forward to going to Leeds University, had recently completed her A-levels at the fee-paying Kirkham Grammar School in Lancashire.

She is understood to have been on holiday with some school friends celebrating having finished their A-levels.
A statement released by Janice Desborough on behalf of Douglas Walker, headmaster at Kirkham Grammar School read: “The school has learnt that one of its ex-pupils has been seriously injured while holidaying in Majorca. The girl, awaiting A-level results, is currently in hospital and her parents are present. All those who have learnt of this awful accident are thinking of her and her family at this extremely difficult time. No further details are known.” Grace's parents have been by her bedside ever since they flew out after hearing of the tragic accident.
