QUEEN Sofia took the helm of the Bribón yesterday, shortly before the start of the Breitling regatta in which King Juan Carlos and Prince Felipe are taking part.
The King and Queen arrived at Puerto Portals at around 10am, and had breakfast at a local bar before boarding the Bribón.
The Prince had boarded the Aifos in Porto Pi, where she is based.
After a brief stint at the helm of the Bribón, the Queen left the ship at the starting line, boarding a smaller boat from which she watched the race.
The King stayed on board the Bribón as part of the crew. King Harald of Norway is also competing.
