ON 4th September, one of the most spectacular concerts in recent years is to be held at the Son Moix stadium in Palma - appearing with British superstar Elton John and Italian singing legend Andrea Bocelli will be Grammy and Tony award-winning actress and musical artist, Heather Headley.

Also on the prestigious programme at Son Moix will be Madrid-born soprano, Saloa Hernandez and the female vocal group Div4s.
Onni Nordström, concert organiser and owner of “Big O” Productions, said at the presentation of the event in Palma this week that the concert promises to be one of the best ever staged in Europe.

Heather Headley, who will sing with Bocelli, was awarded earlier this year with a Grammy for the best Rhythm and Blues Gospel album, Audience of One (Emi 2009).

The American artist began her career on Broadway, where she was awarded a Tony in 2000 as Best Actress of the Year for the part she played in Aida.
Also due to appear with Bocelli on stage will be Spanish soprano Saioa Hernandez who has sung under internationally-renowned conductors such as Jesus Lopez Cobos, Marco Cambielli and Sergio Monterisi.

The presentation drew attention to the new style of choral singing which will take centre stage at the concert in September in the form of female group Div4s. They have been chosen especially by Bocelli to appear with the stars. Nordström confessed: “I particularly love Majorca, so I'm arranging this concert more out of personal commitment to the island rather than for economic reasons.” He also said that he had wanted to arrange a musical spectacular “at a different level” which would have a very wide public appeal. Nordström said that there will initially be 12'000 tickets for sale at very reasonable prices. People will have the chance to see two international stars, he said, for tickets from between 55, 65 and 80 euros.

Although the capacity of Son Moix stadium is 34'000, the total number of tickets to be finally on sale is yet to be decided.
