PALMA
KING Juan Carlos of Spain yesterday received the Prime Minister, Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, for the first of the two traditional summer meetings at Marivent Palace on the outskirts of Palma.

With a broad agenda including the continuing mission to try and rescue missing Spanish and Majorcan climbers in flood-hit north east India, the pending air traffic control strike and the economy, the Prime Minister arrived in Palma bearing good and bad news.

On the economy, the Prime Minister told the King that the growth rate may slow further in the third quarter, though the country harbours hopes of soon reviving some of the infrastructure projects it mothballed under an austerity drive, its prime minister said.
