Bradford.—Three former Majorcan residents will be sentenced later this month for their part in a multi- million pound fraud scheme.
The Brighouse Echo and the Halifax Courier reported yesterday that John Hirst, 61, of Millroyd Mill, Huddersfield Road, Brighouse, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to defraud and a further two counts of money laundering during the so-called Ponzi scheme which swindled millions of pounds from investors including many ex-patriates here in Majorca.

His second wife Linda Hirst, 62, of Surrey and his financial advisor Richard Pollett, 70, of Dorset, were each found guilty of counts of money laundering following a five week trial at Bradford Crown Court.

Jurors spent 30 hours coming to their decision.
The trio will be sentenced on Friday, August 31.
