Ex Balearic president may have to testify in corruption case

THE judge handling the Palma Arena corruption investigation, Jose Castro, said yesterday that ex Balearic president, Jaume Matas may be recalled from his current home in the United States to testify in court proceedings.

Speaking at the courthouse in Via Alemania in Palma after hearing declarations by others implicated in the scandal - including architects Ignacio Antonio Saez and Antonio Marques, and constructor Jaime Navarro - Castro said that “if I need to call Jaume Matas to the witness stand, then I shall do so.”
