Road closure in Palma for building work

PALMA City Council is closing calle Pere Martell to traffic today along the stretch between Ramon Muntaner and Blanquerna. It will be shut for about one month for building works which are being financed by a Central Government aid package.

The announcement which was made yesterday by the Roadworks Coordination Institute explained that the surface of calle Pere Martell needs to be taken up to execute a drainage improvement and drinking water supply programme. However, accesses to parking areas and to local shops will remain open. The Institute claimed that the improvement works would mean a more efficient use of resources which will ultimately “impact favourably on the environment.”
