AN eight-year-boy was in a critical condition yesterday after nearly drowning in a hotel swimming pool in Sa Coma.
According to the 112 emergency service the child's condition was first reported to have been serious before being upgraded to critical.
The incident happened at around 1.40pm and the eight-year-round was dragged out of the pool unconscious.
A team of 061 paramedics rushed to the scene as soon as the alarm was raised and managed to revive the young holidaymaker at the scene before attaching him to an artificial breathing machine and rushing him to Son Dureta hospital in Palma.

Yesterday evening his condition was said to have been critical and that he was under round-the- clock observation in intensive care.
