PALMA
OPEN the atlas and take a stab at a country and that is where the new offers for Real Mallorca are allegedly coming from.
Russia, Uzbekistan, Majorca, Austria and England have all thrown up late contenders for the title of owner of the football club which has been closely coveted by Paul Davidson for the past six weeks and, providing all deadlines are met with, appears set to be his next week.

The legal processing his accepted offer will then have to go through could take at least 15 days but, having been signed by both the British businessman and the current chairman Vicente Grande, there will be no going back on the deal said to be in the region of 40 million euros.

The Uzbek interest is for real, Davidson's team are aware of it.
The alleged Majorcan interest comes from the hotel sector and the Bulletin knows that, while Freddy Shepherd is keeping a very close eye on development here in Palma, no second offer has been made and will not be made until invited by the club.

Should Grande, “a very honourable man”, decide to accept a higher offer then Real Mallorca could still be without a new owner come Christmas.
The acceptance of a new offer will mean that the whole process of due diligence Davidson and his team have gone through over the past six weeks will have to begin all over again.

Yesterday's national sports media in Spain reported that the Davidson deal was all but done and should be closed this coming week.
Here in Majorca, despite both Grande and Davidson having spoken frankly and clearly to the media on Friday, most of the local media is doing all it can to scupper the deal.

The fans just want the situation resolved and fast.
