A total of 932 “Bachillerato” (pre University course) students are taking exams this week in the Balearics for entry into the Balearic University (UIB).
They will know the result on September 22, according to UIB sources.
Of these students, 795 come from Majorca, which is some 85.3 percent, 85 from Ibiza (9.12 percent), 49 from Minorca (5.26 percent) and just 3 from Formentera (0.32 percent).
The exams are taking place simultaneously in six places, one of which is the Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos building on the University campus in which 573 students will sit their exams.
The other five are all Secondary schools, the Berenguer D'Anoia Secondary school in Inca, where 114 students will be examined, Mossen Alcover Secondary school in Manacor, where 108 will sit their exam, Sa Colomina Secondary school on Ibiza, Josep Miquel Guardia Secondary school on Minorca and Marc Ferrer Secondary school on Formentera.
Some 39.53 percent of the students who are taking the exams are registered for Social Science courses. This is a total of 374 students.
Some 21.56 percent are registered for Technical Science courses (192 students). The rest are registered for Humanities courses (12.9 percent, 122 students) or Art courses (5.71 percent, 54 students).
