PALMA
MANACOR police have arrested a 29-year-old male suspect in connection with a hoax ETA bomb threat made to the Local Police on the night of August 19.
According to National Police sources a call, claiming to be “in the name of ETA” was made to the Manacor Local Police station warning that a bomb was primed to explode in a “small house” in Manacor.

The call sparked a major security operation involving all of the three security forces in the area.
And, because of the recent ETA bomb attacks and the lack of information with regards to the location of the explosive device, extra forces in Palma were put on full alert.

During the police operation, a fire was reported in a small building at Manacor race track which, it has since been apparently discovered, was caused by the 29-year-old who is being held in connection with the bomb hoax.
