Majorca.—The met. office reported yesterday that the level of rain fall in Spain between 1 October 2012 and last Monday were way above the average levels expected normally during that period of the year.

In particular, the South of Majorca, the East of Andalusia, parts of La Rioja, Navarra and the Basque Country saw almost 50% more rain than usual during that time. A spokesman for the met. office confirmed that overall throughout the whole country the amount of rain was around 22% and 23% more than initially predicted.
