MADRID CENTRAL government confirmed yesterday that 91.6 percent of the budget for various projects to be undertaken in ports and harbours of the Balearic Islands has been honoured so far in 2008 - 52.1 million euros - out of a total budget for this sector of 56.8 million.

The information was released by the Ministry of Public Works in reply to Parliamentary questions raised by members of the Opposition in the Balearic Islands, Enrique Fajarnes, Juan Carlos Grau, Maria Antonia Mercant and Maria Salom who had wanted to know the degree of commitment that central government had made to Balearic ports.
