A FASHION catwalk will focus on the new technologies used in recycling tomorrow at the Majorcan Environmental Technology Park in Son Reus, which is hosting the third edition of the Via Recicla (Recycling Way). Via Recicla, which is organised by the company Tirme and the Council of Majorca, is planning to show visitors to the show the multiple artistic possibilities that recycled material offers in the world of fashion. The event, which will start at 7.30pm, will present fourteen different fashion combinations which have been especially created by fashion designers who are specialists in making clothes out of recycled material. Amongst the collections, there will be jeans, skirts and shirts, under the new label of recycled clothes called Quadranga.
Furthermore, this event will not be a simple fashion show, as there will be much more to see, assures Josep Crivillers, designer of some of the creations which will be on show tomorrow night. The show will also be a fun “performance”, he added. The artistic show will also include a type of dancing, which will be done using various materials that have been recycled and will move in time to the music. In addition there will be fireworks. The evening will also include a guided tour of the buildings which make up the Majorca Environmental Technology Park. The buildings themselves have been completely made out of recycled material. As a new facet to this year's show, there will be a presentation of the menswear range of the Quadranga label, which has been developed using the same philosophy as the women's line. The designer of this range confirmed that they have not been made out of recycled material, but have been designed in a way to minimise waste and to maximise material. Recycled clothes are “commercially attractive” and the “recycled lines are a similar cost to any other type of clothes that you can find on the market”, added Crivilers.
