PALMA
A total of 842 clients have signed up for EMAYA's (Palma's water and drainage company) Virtual Office Service, it was announced yesterday.
This will allow them to do various transactions, such as paying bills or getting information about water meter readings.
In addition to this, more than 52'000 users have accessed EMAYA's website this year, which is an average rate of 214 visits daily.
In the Virtual Office users will have the opportunity to consult their own data such as name, telephone number, email address, amongst other things, company sources said yesterday.

They will also be able to consult their account, their water meter reading and information about all bills sent to date, and the state of those bills (paid, unpaid etc.).

Users, once they have properly identified themselves, will also be able to pay their bills via a special screen for this purpose, ask for a change in their direct debit arrangements, ask for a change from a communal water meter to an individual one, ask for a change of the person who pays the bill, and ask for a duplicate bill.

Given the increase in the number of activities which users can now do via the internet, EMAYA has introduced high security screens into their system, via which payments can be made with absolute safety as this page cannot be seen by any other user.

EMAYA will, during the next few months, continue to extend the number of things which can be done on the website with the aim of allowing the users to do their administration via the internet.

EMAYA's website, www.emaya.es, was started a year ago, and allows citizens to access certain information such as EMAYA's history, and the areas and different services which they provide.

Of the hits which the site has received the majority have been related to the pages which contain information about their service for the collection of large household items, how to sign up to their service, billing and recycling.

In total, users have looked at a total of 2'523'557 pages with an average of 3'761 pages daily.
