STAFF REPORTER LEMONS, sunflower oil and green peppers were foods which fell most in price last month compared to the same period last year. According to the Central Government Ministry for Industry, Tourism and Commerce, downturns were registered between 18.82 and 26.73 percent.

These foods were the most prominent in a general decline in prices in September when 66 percent of both fresh and packaged foodstuffs became cheaper.
Lemons were top of the list of food items which cost significantly less last month, 26.73 percent below the price which they were demanding in September 2008. The major difference was registered despite the fact that last month, the price of lemons rose by 18.67 percent to reach an average of 1.56 euros per kilo.
