STAFF REPORTER A Spanish Railway History Congress is being held in Palma between 14 to 16 October. Organised by the Spanish Railway Foundation, the event has already been held in previous years in Alicante, Aranjuez, Gijon and Malaga. Since 1998, the congress has been a key focus for investigators, historians and researchers who want to document the impact that railway infrastructure has had on society since the inception of train travel. Running simultaneously to the Congress and finishing in January 2010, Palma Central Station is holding an exhibition on railway development entitled “The train on Majorca, history reinvents itself.”
