Contruction trade up, but jobs still decline

The Balearic construction industry is growing for the first time since 2012, but employment numbers are still declining, authorities reported yesterday.

Palma.—Last year almost 21,000 workers were registered in the sector by the social security services but that number has now dropped to little less than 20,000. Despite these figures the Balearics Construction department announced yesterday that activity is growing and finally breaking the negative impact of the recession.
