Bulgarian mother of two died from asphyxiation

THE 36-year-old Bulgarian woman found dead at the family home in Santanyi in the early hours of Monday morning was apparently strangled by her 47-year-old husband, the results of the autopsy confirmed yesterday.

The autopsy concluded that Shezhana Blagoeva Cheshmedzhiev died of asphyxiation and Giorgi Borisov Cheshmedzhiev remained in police custody yesterday accused of having killed his wife.

The suspect had apparently lost his job recently and was suffering from depression for which he was taking medication.
The alarm was raised by the couple's 11-year-old daughter who rushed round to the local Guardia Civil barracks at 5am on Monday morning after a heated argument between her parents reached its peak to seek help because her father was apparently hitting her mother.
