The forest fire season came  to a close on Tuesday and yesterday the authorities looked back on a tragic Summer.

Palma.—While fire fighters and the forestry commission have not totally dropped their  guard as  temperatures continue to remain unusually high for this time of year, they are no longer of high alert for forest fires. But, this year, it may be the end of the forest fire season but for the forestry commission and the Environment Ministry, their work is only just about to begin.
