MP Vicens suspended from Majorca Union party

THE Majorcan Unionist Party yesterday announced that it had temporarily suspended its MP who is currently embroiled in the Son Oms industrial estate corruption investigation which is now going to be studied by the Balearic High Court.

Bartomeu Vicens last week resigned as the Majorcan Union Party's parliamentary spokesperson but refused, as the Balearic President Francesc Antich and leader of the left-wing collation government of which the Unionists are members demanded, to give up his seat in parliament, throwing the government into its worst internal crisis yet.
