Bars warned to lock away furniture after late-night raiders strike

BAR and restaurant owners in a Calvia resort have been warned to lock away their terrace furniture at night following a spate of thefts.
The latest occurred this weekend at a bar on Magalluf's infamous ‘club strip' when thieves took away a terrace-full of tables and chairs even though they were securely chained together.

Now local police are warning traders to store their furniture inside bars after closing time or risk a repeat of the incident.
Apparently, the thieves struck at Bonkers bar on Magalluf's Punta Ballena after closing time in the early hours of the weekend.
