PALMA
THE torrential rain which fell across the north east of the island over the weekend, such as the 240 litres per square metre in Lluc, served to top up Majorca's two main reservoirs.

Cuber and Gorg Blau reservoirs are now holding nearly eight million cubic metres, 66 percent of their maximum capacity after 95 litres per square metre was caught by Cuber and 176 metres pre square metre by Gorg Blau. Sources for the water board Emaya said yesterday that the reservoirs are now holding sufficient water to meet demand for the next 12 months and any further rains are going to be a bonus to supplies.
