Dramatic new unemployment figures  were released yesterday after reporting that over half of those out of a job have been so for over a year.

Palma.—The information gathered by the Ramdstad agency  showed that the number of Balearic citizens looking for work in the third quarter  of this year rose above the 100,000 mark, with almost 60,000 citizens in a long term unemployment situation.
Representing 58% of unemployement numbers on the islands, the data  promises to be one of the main issues  for the Balearic  government to resolve next year.
