PALMA
SINCE 1989, Pinmar have held their Annual Yachtsman's Golf Tournament which is now firmly established as an important part of the yachting industry's social calendar.
This year's tournament took place last week at the stunning Son Gual golf course and received support and sponsorship from many businesses, with the yacht paint giant Awlgrip, taking centre stage as the main sponsor.
RECORD
A record 352 golfers took part in the tournament last Thursday and Friday making it one of the largest amateur golf tournaments in Europe.
Such is the popularity of the event, teams had to be turned away as all slots for the competition were filled weeks before it began. This is one of the reasons why sponsors are falling over themselves to get involved and this year saw a record breaking number of over 100 sponsors.
The overall winners of the best yacht competition were M.Y. Heavy Metal and the winners of the best non-yacht competition were Pinmar.
Saturday was the Prizegiving Dinner which was held at the Gran Casino Theatre in Sol de Mallorca, where over 850 people enjoyed a 3 course meal, and watched on whilst the winners of the tournament were awarded with their prizes. This was followed by Majorca's newest and most talked about musical theatre production Come Fly With Me.

The entire evening was hosted by the producers of this spectacular show, Globo Balear.
To date the tournament has raised over 40'000 for local children's charities and all of the organisers and participants agreed it was the best tournament and fund raiser yet.
