PRINCE Felipe, heir to the Spanish throne, will marry journalist Leticia Ortiz Rocasolano, Royal Household sources said. The wedding will take place in the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Almudena at the start of summer, the sources added. Prince Felipe, the third child and only son of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, was born in Madrid on January 30, 1968 and received the title of Prince of Asturias on November 1, 1977. After completing his studies in Spain, he spent a year at Lakefield College in Canada, and received military training between 1985 and 1988 in all three branches of the Armed Forces. He read law at Madrid university and took a masters degree in international relations at Georgetown University in Washington. He has a heavy calendar of official duties, which has taken him around the world and presides the annual presentation of the Prince of Asturias Prizes. He was a member of the Spanish Olympic sailing team in the Barcelona Games in 1992 and spends most of the summer holiday in Majorca with the other members of the Spanish Royal Family. Leticia Ortiz Rocasolano was born in Oviedo on September 15, 1972. She graduated in journalism in Madrid and currently works for Spanish Television, where she has presented news programmes. She has also worked for the American TV station Bloomberg and CNN Plus.
