THE Balearic Minister for the Environment, Miguel Angel Grimalt, could resign later today.
Majorcan Unionist Party MP Grimalt, will be questioned as part of Operate Make Up, the apparent misappropriation of public funds through allegedly bogus contracts and grants by various members of the UM-led Council of Majorca during the previous legislature. The probe is in fact part of the much broader investigation into the Son Oms urban corruption scandal and, if Grimalt continues to be implicated in the investigation after he has appeared in court at midday, he will apparently quit.
