Thursday night’s freak storm caused widespread damage across Majorca and halted ferry services.

Palma.—The 112 emergency centre responded to 67 incidents in the early hours of yesterday morning as a freak storm and gale force winds peaking at 100 kilometres per hour which  battered the island.
Serious damage was caused across the island and the region remains on weather alert today  for   strong winds again, although the threat of rain is minimal.
