Palma.—Majorcan beaches feature in three of the top 12 secluded hotspots in Europe, according to a new guide.
And the island’s Portals Vells is top-of-the-flip flops when it comes to the best hideaways – putting others literally in the shade.
Kirsty Hathaway, editor of Beach Tomato, who compiled the list to help sunseekers catch the rays in idyllic locations, said:
“This secret sandy escape offers some much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Magalluf and Palma. Stretch out on the top class sand or don a snorkel and explore the turquoise depths.”
In yet more positive publicity for the island – the feature was carried in the national press in the UK - Majorca was the only destination to feature three times in the list. Other “must-see” recommendations were Sa Calobra and Banyalbufar.
