A Balearic animal protecticion group has rallied all dog owners to unite and ask Palma City Council to create dog parks in their neighbourhood, as well as being granted permission to take their pets to all parks on a suitable timetable. The association is also demanding dog owners and respective pets to be allowed on public beaches outside the Summer season. They claim there are now 77,000 dogs registered and fitted with a microchip and that they deserve more rights. Palma City Council has said in the past they plan to make available a dog park in every area of the region, less than 15 minutes apart.
