Palma.— New year same old problem. The Balearic Symphony Orchestra has not been paid again by the authorities overseeing the group and is set to go on strike later this month, posing serious doubts over whether the musicians will perform when the Balearic Opera season starts on 23 February.
“Striking is the only language the government understands. After all the struggles last year and all the pay cuts we agreed to, they still cannot keep their word. It’s shameful,” a member of the orchestra said.
