Santa Margalida.— Police in Santa Margalida have opened an investigation after hundreds of fish were found dead in the Son Baulo stream.
The alarm was raised early in the morning after some passing neighbours saw large quantities of dead fish in the water and called the authorities.
The first thing those who raised the alarm noticed was that all of the fish laid with their mouth and gills completely open.
The majority of the bass fish were of small size, three to four centimetres, although some fish weighing two to three kilos were also found.
