Palma.—The Balearic Day celebration did not quite get off to the desired start yesterday when gale force winds and then heavy rain lashed the island.
In Palma, where the biggest Balearic Day market ever has been erected for the weekend, market goers were left running for cover as torrential rain pelted down and according to the weather forecast for the weekend, there is more to come with the island on level one yellow alert for strong winds.
