Palma.—The Mayor of Palma, Mateo Isern and the Thomas Cook travel giant, have signed an agreement to promote the capital as a “city break” destination.
The move is certainly a step in the right direction and comes just a week after the Bulletin launched a campaign calling for more Winter flights between Britain and the island.
Mayor Isern held talks with high level representations from Thomas Cook in London this week and they agreed that Palma was a ideal place for a short holiday during the high and low seasons. The Mayor explained to them the work of the council´s Foundation 365 which aims to promote Palma as an all year around holiday destination.
“This agreement means that we will be able to lengthen the holiday season,” said a city council spokesperon.
