Palma.—Hotel prices in the Balearics were some of the the highest in Spain last year, according to the a survey by the Hotel Price Index.
On average it cost 101 euros to spend a night in a Spanish hotel, according to the report.
“On average Formentera has the highest hotel prices in the country, costing almost 200 euros for a single night. Then it is Ibiza costing 148 euros,” said the Hotel Price Index.
 A  night in a hotel cost 118 euros in Calvia, Alcudia and Palma, one of the highest rates in the country.
 The report comes as local hoteliers come under pressure to slash their prices in an effort to attract tourists during the Summer months.
