Manacor.—Manacor police force managed to remove 353 abandoned dogs from the streets of the municipality last year.
Sebastiana Sureda from the local economy department explained most of the animals had either escaped or been abandoned by their owners, who are unable to afford them or in order to avoid animal regulation bureaucracy just leave them on the streets.
Sureda has been under pressure to provide answers regarding the animals, after being “grilled” by members of the opposition party (PSM) at the last council meeting.
