Politicians held a minute’s silence in Palma yesterday in memory of Olha Yuriyiuna who died a week ago and was the region’s first victim of domestic violence this year.

Palma.—Her body was found last Friday morning on Son Baulo beach, just metres away from the sea and some 50 metres where her husband, 29-year-old Russian, Dimitry lived a mysterious life.
He was spending his first full day behind bars on remand as the prime suspect in the death of his 39-year-old wife who worked in Palma and did not spend much time with Dimitry in Can Picafort.
When the Guardia Civil arrested him in the early hours of Thursday morning, he apparently admitted to having killed his wife but claimed it was part of a suicide pact.
