Palma--

This year’s edition was deemed a success by the organisers not only for the record amount of visitors but also how smooth the event developed.

The location of the fair and allocation of space for artists to set up their stalls was very similar to last year, which made things easier for the many visitors, who did not want to miss this chance to see some of the most renowned local and oversea’s artists. The amount on offer in terms of expositions and educational activities proved to be a winning move by the organising team, with the ones specially designed for children a major success. Young visitors had the opportunity to try first hand the "trencadis", a mosaic technique using small pieces of ceramics, and between that and other activities available, around 3,000 youngsters were present at this year’s fair.

Pottery award

On Sunday the good weather experienced all over the island helped the fair close on a high, bringing in extra visitors.

Artists who had their stalls set up outside, mainlypotters from Portol and sa Cabaneta benefited from the sunny weather and welcomed the extra visitors. Fair organiseres were also presented with the National Pottery Award by the Spanish Ceramic Cities Association, in recognition for the thirty years the fair has helped develop, preserve and promote the pottery trade, and local artists.
