Calvia.—The opposition Socialist Party has slammed Calvia’s Partido Popular (PP) council for its lack of commitment with the tourism trade.
Party officials have visited some of Calvia’s beaches and were lost for words with what they saw.
With the Summer season about to kick start most are in “inadmissible conditions to welcome visitors”.
There is no water in the beach showers, sun beds and shades are still not in place, while the public toilets are either closed or in “very poor conditions”. The Socialist Party said they have received several complaints from local neighbours, shop owners and businessmen and women criticising the government for “not working hard enough” to have everything in place ahead of the tourism season.
