The Balearic construction industry  is finally showing signs of recovery after five years of recession, a report by the local college of architects  revealed yesterday.

Palma.—During the first three months of this year the college oversaw 912 architectural projects, some 5.43 percent more than during the same period last year.
Just over a quarter of that figure relates to construction of new houses and properties (239) compared with the 195 in 2013, which at the time represented 30 percent less than in 2012.

Work to do
Despite the slight increase in productivity, both the college and relevant authorities explained there is still a lot of  work to do to see any real improvement in terms of job creation and economic impact.
