Palma.—The Balearic Minister for Tourism, Jaime Martinez, said yesterday his government will respect the latest ruling by the Balearic High Court that the Council of Majorca can not alter its planning laws so that a hotel complex can be constructed near the beach in the municipality of Campos.
This is the second time that the Balearic High Court has ruled that the Council of Majorca can not tamper with the planning rules and regulations and Martinez said that the government will respect that.
Ever since the plans were first unveiled, there has been widespread opposition to the project with scores of protests being staged on the beach which is considered to be one of the most natural and beautiful in Europe.
