Palma to host Indie festival

Majorca continues to show its commitment in developing the music scene in the region and Palma will be the host of a new Indie music festival this September.

Palma.—The Solar Fest Mallorca will take place at   Son Fusteret  on 12 and 13 September with organisers confirming yesterday they are expecting some 18 different bands and DJ’s to perform there.
The event, backed by promoting groups TRUI and Primeros Pasitos/ Grand Salto, shows not only the region’s commitment in promoting up and coming artists but also highlights the impact of the recession in the trade.
The budget for these type of events has suffered over the last few years and attracting some of music’s top names to set up a festival is costly.
