Palma.—A 24-year-old British holiday maker was involved in a dramatic rescue yesterday morning suffering a dangerous fall while walking along the rocks in Cala Castellot, Santa Ponsa.
The accident happened just before lunch and only two hours after the young man had arrived on the island at the start of his holiday which was not due to end until next Tuesday.
The reasons for the fall are being investigated, but the emergency services did confirm that the Briton was drunk at the time of the fall. The 24-year-old fell three metres down a large gap in the rocks and the rescue operation was extremely complicated.
