The Local and National Police forces launched another swoop on the Playa de Palma yesterday to enforce the new Good Citizen Law.

Palma.—The main targets yesterday were illegal street traders the masseuses offering massages on the beach.
In total, the police intercepted and arrested 43 women offering massages to sunbathers of both sexes along the beach.
Apparently all of the women were Chinese and none of them had the necessary permits to be offering massages on the beach.
Yesterday’s swoop was carried out across an area in the middle of the resort and a number of under cover police officers were also involved in the operation.
They operated as spotters guiding the police, who were hanging off so not to startle the masseuses, in to where they were operating. All of the 43 women were taken to the Local Police station where they were processed and three were later taken away by the National Police because their paperwork was not in order.
Police sources said yesterday that these kinds of raids are going to become increasingly common and at various times of the day as the National and Local Police set about maintaining law and order in the holiday resort.
