The Calvia Chief of Police, Jose Antonio Navarro Munoz, and two other officers have been sent to jail in Palma on charges of extortion, the EFE news agency said. They are alleged to have blackmailed Magalluf business owners into giving them money. The police investigation is on-going. It follows a report over the weekend which said that a series of Magalluf business owners had been questioned by a Palma judge.
