Palma.—The Secretary General of the Balearic branch of Partido Popular, Miguel Vidal, claimed yesterday that over 80 percent of schools have signed up to a trilingual “Catalan, Castilian and English)teaching curriculum and that in many of these cases, the model being used is TIL, the one drawn up by the government and is causing so much controversy.
Yesterday, the government was informed by the Balearic High Court that its ruling to suspend the introduction of TIL, which it considers is “invalid”, still stands.
However, Vidal said that all of those schools which had signed up to TILbefore the court ruling on 24 September, can continue using TIL, so, Vidal said, the court’s ruling really has no meaning.
80 percent of Balearic schools already have a trilingual programme
