The youngest sister of Spain’s newly crowned King Felipe VI will on Friday know whether or not she is to be charged as part of the investigation being carried out by a Palma judge into the business affairs of her husband and his business partner.

Palma.—Princess Cristina, the youngest daughter of King Juan Carlos, who abdicated earlier this year, was questioned by  judge Jose Castro in Palma, on 8 February and  he  formalised the charges against the princess on 25 June, saying that she should be tried alongside her husband and other suspects.
The Princess, who has since moved to Geneva with her husband to remain out of the public eye, faces being charged with tax evasion and  money laundering.
Princess Cristina became  the first direct member of Spain’s royal family to testify in court while facing preliminary charges for a crime.
Her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, the King’s son-in-law, already faces preliminary charges in the same case.
He testified in Palma in  February 2013 about his business dealings and the alleged diversion of public funds that have been at the centre of a judge’s investigation.
