We may have a new monarch on the throne but some things never change and that is the love for Majorca by the Spanish Royal Family. On Sunday, King Felipe, Queen Letiziaand their two daughters, the Infantas Leonor and Sofia, alongside their grandmother, the former Queen Sofia, gathered at the Cathedral in Palma to attend the usual Easter Sunday mass. They were greeted by hundreds of well-wishers. Former King, Juan Carlos, and his daughter the Infanta Elena, did not attend the event in Palma. The presence of the royal family at Palma Cathedral gave Palma a real buzz. The royal family are staying at the Marivent Palace in Cala Mayor. It is unclear how long they will remain on the island.
The former Queen Sofia has spent the last few weeks on Majorca attending various events.
