The regional government wants to promote renewable energy and the use of the electric vehicles, and so is going to allocate 300,000 euros for the creation of charging points for these vehicles. With this aim, the regional ministry of transport has published an announcement of subventions comprising 50% European regional development funds and 50% from the government itself.

The director-general for energy and climate change, Joan Groizard, explains that contact has already been made with most town halls in the Balearics to let them know about the financial aid: they have until November to request it.

The time for claiming grants is short, but it is governed by European regulations by which requests for aid funding have to be submitted no later than 3 November.
