The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation into the death of a man found on the outskirts of Felanitx next to the road connecting the town with Vilafranca by the entrance to the Ladrillerías Mallorquinas factory. The body was discovered next to a van that was on fire.

The body of the man, aged around 35, had a knife in the chest and, partially burned, was lying next to the passenger door.

Guardia officers, Manacor's judge, the prosecutor and forensic teams were all working overnight in the areas where the body was found, looking for evidence or clues as to what precisely happened.

Initially, homicide was suspected, but as the investigation has gone on, indications point to suicide. The autopsy will be performed today, and this should reveal more clues.
